Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Content Writers
Job Description
Search engine optimization (SEO) content writer is responsible for creating content for our website or blog that optimizes the client’s results in search engines. They will prepare articles, databases or other text for the blogs and websites. We are looking for dedicated in-house writing staff but are open to freelancers and part-time employees.
Job Responsibilities
Liaise with client or manager in order to gain thorough understanding of their SEO goals and objectives
Optimize current copy on a client’s website (page titles, meta descriptions, h1s, alts, anchor text, etc.)
Write new SEO-friendly copy for pages on a client’s website
Apply trade secrets to written material in order to increase search engine rankings of the piece, website or blog
Review and edit existing text, ensuring that it is SEO friendly
Obtain list of keywords and terminology from client or manager
Prepare articles or text based on the keywords
Send to client or manager for approval or publication
Write blogs and posts
Prepare press releases and media pitches
Create infographics
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must have demonstrated writing experience, academic and professional.
Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in English
Should have experience writing for an internet audience.
Working knowledge of search engine optimization best practices and how they apply to content marketing.
